For several years now, the last week of September in our school has been dedicated to Komitas.
Each year, under the theme "Who are we", we explore and present our students with the profound work and contributions of this exceptional musician who has become an emblematic figure of Armenian identity.
This year, on September 30, the "Luiza-V" music school had the privilege of "hosting" the Komitas Museum-Institute, represented by the esteemed researcher Astghik Martirosyan.
Within the educational program titled "Komitas in the Works of Art", we not only provided a comprehensive portrayal of Komitas, but also presented some of the magnificent works inspired by his influence.
As part of this enriching experience, we introduced the "Armenian notation theme" to our young students. Through this initiative, they not only discovered the distinctive Armenian notation system, but also gained insights into why Komitas chose to employ this system to transcribe Armenian songs.
